Daniel Clyde Davis III

Alsip

Alsip - Daniel Clyde Davis III, 59, of Alsip, IL went missing in November of 2025. He was searched for and missed for four long months.

Dan finally was brought home to be laid to rest on March 9th, 2026.  He was born on April 5th, 1966, in Bloomington, Indiana to Daniel Clyde Davis II and Myra Marie (Peterson) Davis.

Dan is survived by his parents, Dan and Myra, his daughter, Wendy Davis, brother, Lance Davis, sister, Elsie (Davis) Miller, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family members.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dan and Ruth Davis, Pete and Blanche Peterson, and his infant son, Daniel.

Dan grew up in Spencer, IN and was part of Owen Valley High School’s graduating class of 1984. He went on to attend Indiana University and soon after moved to the Chicago area with his family. He was a dedicated employee at 115 Bourbon Street where he was the head lighting designer for 25 years.

Above all, Dan was a proud, dedicated father. He had Hoosier pride through and through but was deeply loved by his community in the South Side. His crazy antics and sense of humor will be remembered fondly and missed terribly.

In losing and finding Dan, thousands of people were inspired to laugh more often, mend broken relationships, show more compassion, and live life more fully.

A celebration of life was held in Merrionette Park, IL on March 26th, 2026, where more than 500 friends, family members, and search team members came together to remember and honor Dan. A private remembrance will be held for family members in Spencer, IN on April 4th, 2026.

Please consider making a donation to SAR Sheps (https://thesarshepsoh.square.site/) or Code 3 SAR(code3searchandrescue.org) who helped in Dan's search efforts in lieu of flowers.
